A Romantic Engagement Session at Laguna Beach, California

There’s something undeniably magical about an engagement session along the California coast, and Laguna Beach was the perfect setting for this beautiful couple’s celebration of love.

With its dramatic cliffs, golden light, and endless Pacific Ocean views, Laguna Beach gave us a stunning backdrop from beginning to end. But beyond the scenery, what made this session so special was the connection between the two of them—the quiet moments, the laughter, and all the little ways they naturally gravitated toward each other.

We began along the coastline, taking advantage of Laguna’s iconic ocean views and soft coastal light. As they walked hand in hand along the shore, the session felt effortless and relaxed. The ocean breeze, warm sunlight, and sound of the waves created the kind of atmosphere that makes photographing couples feel incredibly natural.

As the evening went on, the light became softer and warmer, wrapping everything in a beautiful golden glow. We captured those in-between moments—the spontaneous laughs, gentle embraces, and the looks they shared when they thought the camera wasn't watching. Those are often the photographs that tell the story best.

Laguna Beach has a way of making an engagement session feel both timeless and completely California. From the rugged coastline to the romantic sunsets, every corner offered something beautiful without taking attention away from what mattered most: the couple themselves.

Their session was a beautiful reminder that engagement photos don't have to feel overly posed or formal. The best images often come from simply slowing down, enjoying each other, and letting the moments unfold naturally.

I loved this snowy, sunset engagement photo session with Mariah and Tyler! The sprinkling of snow on the ground mixed with the perfect golden light made for an amazing engagement session in the Elena Gallegos Open Space in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains. I highly recommend sunset shoots since it is the most perfect time of day to get optimal lighting to create that gorgeous glow. I also loved how they coordinated their natural colored outfits of greens, tans, and black. I’m so excited for this sweet couple’s wedding in July 2021!

These two love birds were so fun to photograph! Amanda and Justin’s sunset engagement photo session was perfection. They envisioned their shoot to be right at sunset and I am so happy we got to fulfill that wish! Pure joy radiated just like the beams of light through the trees. The Elena Gallegos Open Space at the Sandia Mountain foothills never fails to produce epic sunset shots! The hazy glow at dusk is just breathtaking. The pictures really do say it all!
