Linsey + Donald | A La Fonda Intimate New Year’s Eve Wedding | Santa Fe, NM

Intimate Winter Wedding Photography in Albuquerque, New Mexico

How cool is it that Linsey + Donald chose to get married and start their next chapter together on New Year’s Eve? I am so honored that this sweet, not to mention stunning, couple chose me to photograph their small, intimate wedding at La Fonda on the Plaza in historic Santa Fe, New Mexico. Holiday wedding dates can sometimes be tricky, but with the current climate of the world and intimacy of the guest list, I think it was the perfect way to kick off 2021! New year, new love, new beginnings :)

If you haven’t been to La Fonda on the Plaza, which is the only hotel on the plaza in Santa Fe, NM, it is a must see and stay. The amazing architecture and authentic Southwestern decor stud the entire hotel, but also have a modern flair. It is a perfect wedding location right outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico for those that want elegance mixed with a touch of New Mexican culture! Whether you are a local or visitor, you are in for a treat. Santa Fe offers so much history, culture, art, food, and gorgeous views.

It was so much fun to hang out with the bridal party and watch them get ready. Something Ginger did their magic and created the most gorgeous look with hair and make-up on the bride and her girls! I adored Linsey’s classic low bun + natural makeup look that accentuated her natural beauty. She was simply glowing!

The bride’s off the shoulder wedding gown from The Bridal Room seemed to have been made just for her. The delicate lace overlay detail was perfectly paired with a stunning winter white fur wrap. Her bridesmaids also had that special fur detail to accentuate their winter-y velvet bridesmaids gowns. What a beautiful and stylish combo. Loved it so much!

And let’s not forget how dapper the groom Donald looked! A classic black tuxedo suit will never go out of style in my opinion. One of my favorite things about winter weddings is you can add those extra sophisticated touches, fabrics like velvet, fur, and “extras” like jewels, deeper colors, and even make-up choices that perfectly fit in with the wintery vibes the season offers. It is your chance to be bold!

Don’t hesitate to plan your wedding on around a holiday. It creates a lasting memory for all guests, narrows down your theme options and guest list, lowers the likelihood that another couple will have the same date, and it will make your anniversary that much more special every year.

Check out a small portion of some of the other weddings we have done here. Interested in a certain theme but don’t see it on our website? We probably have more pictures to share from our portfolio. Please don’t hesitate to reach out!

Fall Wedding Photography in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Meghan and Ryan’s Fall October 2020 micro wedding in Albuquerque, New Mexico was absolutely gorgeous. I am so happy that despite having to change their original plans from a large wedding to a more intimate gathering due to COVID, they were still able to celebrate with their close friends and family. They even got to keep their original wedding date!

The simple but thoughtful details they put into their wedding from the bridesmaid dresses, to the florals, down to the charming and oh so fitting wedding favors made this such a fun wedding to photograph! The rich purple and dusty lavender hues of the bridesmaid dresses paired gorgeously with the amazing floral bouquets provided by Albuquerque Florist. Meghan’s beautiful lace wedding dress from The Dressing Room West and veil Bridal Elegance by Darlene added the perfect touch to this already breathtaking bride! The guys also looked amazing in their suits from Men’s Warehouse. They were a fun bunch to photograph!

We were able to capture Meghan getting ready and her bridal portraits at Hyatt Regency Tamaya on the Santa Ana Pueblo in New Mexico. This boutique luxury resort is a must see when visiting New Mexico. It offers stunning views and backdrops, pools, amazing fine dining at the Corn Maiden, a unique and luxurious spa experience, and a peak into New Mexico’s local style and flavor. You can even rent a bike and cruise the close by Bosque trails.

The traditional Catholic ceremony took place at Our Lady of the Annunciation Church where this sweet couple was joined by their closest friends and family! I love when couples are able to marry tradition with modern touches in a elegant way.

I always get extra excited when couple’s choose to add videography to their wedding investment. Learn more about our videography package here.

Wedding Trends 2020 | Wedding Photographers Albuquerque, NM | Wedding Photographers Santa Fe, NM

Great Wedding Trends of 2020

You don’t work countless weddings every year without learning the ins and outs, the popular color palettes, and the great wedding trends. In this blog, I want to really touch on one interesting trend we’ve been seeing this year. This is all about the wedding veil. There have been two extreme opposites here, yet both extremely popular in the wedding world.

The first is the very long veil. This is often called a cathedral or a “royal veil”. Royal is a very fitting name for this style. It is long, elegant and flowy, draping down to the floor. This style works great with a wedding dress that has a long train. This look is sure to make brides feel like the princesses they are; watch out royal family!

Now, on the complete opposite side of the spectrum we are seeing many brides nix the veil completely. It might feel a little rebellious to go no veil during your wedding, but there are actually many stunning no veil wedding looks. With a gorgeous hair style and some hair accessories, no one will even think twice about the missing veil. It even gives a bit of a modern feel to these brides. Check them out below…
